How can you decide to be happy no matter what happens in your life?

Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. When people are successful, or safe, or lucky, they feel happiness. The "pursuit of happiness" is something country is based on, and different people feel happiness for different reasons.

Is it possible to be happy all life?

I will tell you a story.

The Chinese Farmer Story

Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away. That evening, all of his neighbors came around to commiserate. They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away. This is most unfortunate.” The farmer said, “Maybe.”

The next day the horse came back bringing seven wild horses with it, and in the evening everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky. What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!” The farmer again said, “Maybe.”

The following day his son tried to break one of the horses, and while riding it, he was thrown and broke his leg. The neighbors then said, “Oh dear, that’s too bad,” and the farmer responded, “Maybe.”

The next day the conscription officers came around to conscript people into the army, and they rejected his son because he had a broken leg. Again all the neighbors came around and said, “Isn’t that great!” Again, he said, “Maybe.”

The whole process of nature is an integrated process of immense complexity, and it’s really impossible to tell whether anything that happens in it is good or bad — because you never know what will be the consequence of the misfortune; or, you never know what will be the consequences of good fortune.

We always tend to think in present tense.

The past it is gone, the future it is yet to come and the present we believe we have it and have control over it. But before we realize we are in present it is gone.

lets take you for example “remember the time you failed in 1st grade” or “the time you were heart broken”

you felt at that time, shit, my life is gone.

but now we remember those moments, and realize, we were sad or unhappy in that time frame only.

so try to think life in a longer and bigger picture.

So what can you do to be happy

  1. Stop thinking life is short and just now only. life is long and very long, in the end it may feel it was short but in real it is long and prepare for it.
  2. stay detached. Attachment is source of lot of problems.
  3. fulfill your duty, give your 110% and leave the rest to god, or unknown power you know.
  4. Keep habit of big picture thinking
  5. Always ask why
  6. Enjoy life

Anyways, life goes on anyhow, if you are sad or happy. Just go with flow.

Also remember that no person, animal or even god are blessed to be happy all the time.

To improve yourself, you got to go through pain, and everyone does, so be prepared, life is unpredictable, but, that's the fun don't you think?
